On this very beautiful journey, with many fascinating landmarks, and impressive sites along the way, we experience one of the most scenic hikes in the country, on the highest Greek mountain, Mt. Olympus. This is what the twelve ancient gods used to call “home”. From the mountainous mainland, we will set sail to the land of Halkidiki. With its particular shape, like Poseidon’s trident stretching into the North Aegean, the peninsulas of Halkidiki are waiting for you to discover their beauties. This eight-day tour starts from Thessaloniki, the cultural& business center of Macedonia. We drive up to Litochoro, a town on the slopes of Mount Olympus for hiking through Olympus’ mythical trails, we reach the coastline of Pieria, the famous Olympus Riviera to catch our sailing boat and sail towards Halkidiki where we will enjoy sailing along the west coastline of Kassandra and Sithonia Peninsula.

1st day
Arriving at Thessaloniki we will take a guided walking tour* in the city centre, in this modern metropolis bearing the marks of its stormy history and its cosmopolitan character. For those arriving later, a visit to the Museum of Byzantine Culture** will be organised. A museum presenting various aspects of life during the byzantine and post-byzantine periods in the most “Byzantine” city of Greece. We then transfer to the town of Litochoro, on the slopes of Mt Olympus, approximately 1-hour drive. After checking in, we will enjoy a welcome dinner at a local restaurant with authentic Greek cuisine.

2nd day
We start our day driving up to Prionia, the starting point of our hiking route to Olympus. Here you will have two options in order to choose the most suitable hiking route for you.
Option 1*: Walking through one of the most scenic hikes in central Greece, the international hiking path E4 from Prionia descending to Litochoro. The varied geological features, the small lakes with crystal waters, the woods and the sheer mountain slopes provide a rare beauty and entirely reward the visitor. After arriving at Litochoro we will visit Ancient Dion**, the sacred city of the Macedonians. Our day will end by dining at our beautiful guesthouse in Litochoro with a magnificent view over Pieria and Thermaikos Gulf.
Option 2***: Hiking towards the peaks of Mt Olympus via an unprecedented nature, to reach the Mouson Plateau at 2720m alt., which is very close to the highest summits. At this altitude the views to the sea are spectacular. We will spend the night in one of the two refuges playing among clouds and stars.

3rd day
Option 1 (overnight in Litochoro): We transfer to the town of Platamonas, a seaside resort in south Pieria and one of the significant tourist destinations in Northern Greece with green landscapes and crystalline sea waters. The most important attraction of Platamonas* is its castle which we will visit. After a morning walk at the Olympus Riviera, we drive up to Palios Panteleimonas for lunch at a traditional Greek tavern.
Option 2 (overnight in a refuge in Mouson Plateau): We continue ascending to the highest summit** of Olympus, Mytikas, at 2917m or to the most beautiful Greek summit Stefani (the throne of Zeus) at 2909m to enjoy the incredible view and an unforgettable feeling. Common program: We all meet with our skipper, late in the afternoon, at the harbour of Platamonas, where we will prepare for our sailing trip.

4th day
After our health and safety briefing, we set sail towards Halkidiki by crossing the gulf of Thermaikos. We reach our base at Sani Marina Resort, a safe haven in a vibrant environment in the magnificent Kassandra Peninsula. Sani Marina is one of the best Marinas in the Aegean. We will enjoy dinner at a Sani Resort-awarded restaurant. We will explore this bustling resort and enjoy the nightlife.

5th day
We start our sailing day heading south to Nea Skioni. We then transfer to Agia Paraskevi, one of the traditional villages of the region, famous for its thermal springs. We will relax and finish the day at the thermal springs* to enjoy bathing in healing waters with therapeutic qualities.

6th day
We head to the east side of Kassandra to explore the underwater life of “Porto Valitsa” at Paliouri Bay. We will follow the “Discover Scuba Diving” Program* guided by professional dive instructors. (Certified PADI, IANTD and CMAS). We cross Toroneos Gulf to end our day dining in Neos Marmaras, a town on the west coast of Sithonia. Neos Marmaras is the most cosmopolitan of all the villages and towns of Sithonia. Here we will have the chance to scroll around and discover the village.

* Optional: This program is for anybody who is 8 years or older and wishes to try diving with TRITON SCUBA CLUB – our official diving partner. Everybody has the opportunity to dive unless you have certain health problems which you will discuss with the trainers. The whole process is carried out according to relevant laws and rules of various diving organizations such as PADI- CMAS- IANTD. Our major aim is to achieve the highest safety and enjoyment possible for our guests, as well as excellent service.
7th day
The day begins sailing towards the hotel complex of Porto Carras to visit the winery* “Domaine Porto Carras”. We will be guided through the biggest vineyard in Greece and will be able to visit the cellar. The wine tour concludes in the “Melissanthi” tasting room where we will have the chance to taste some of the most ancient wine varieties produced with modern techniques. Continuing our day we will relax on one of the 34 private beaches of the complex or try some of the watersports of Porto Carras Hotel. In the afternoon we will sail to Marmaras to dine and rest the night.

8th day
Early in the morning, we return to Thessaloniki MAKEDONIA Airport to catch our flights. For those who have time, a guided walking tour can be organised to get to know the city of Thessaloniki.
